Is
this good to use?
From: "OONA"
Is Hydrogen Peroxide 3% good to apply to zits?
brad responded with this:
yes it is but you have to put baby oil
on your face before you do it to open your pores and so you don't
dry out your skin.
TB faithfully responded with this:
It is not recommended. Hydrogen Peroxide
is a topical antiseptic. For most types of acne, benzoyl peroxide,
Topical retinoids or other topical antibiotic lotions can be used.
One of the main problems with H2O2 is that it has a bleaching affect
something that would not be good on the face. Direct skin contact or
breathing the vapors of hydrogen peroxide can also be harmful and
some people find it an irritant to their skin. Most over-the-counter
remedies contain benzoyl peroxide. Severe acne should be looked at
by a dermatologist.
Todd rattled off this answer:
I wouldn't use hydrogen peroxide of
zits. Hydrogen peroxide is a common cleaner external minor wounds
and sometimes for cleaning ears. But it isn't really good for zits.
You need something that will not only clean it but make it heal.
There are many OTC (over-the-counter) and prescription drugs to use
on zits and for use on acne. These drugs are specially designed to
treat zits.
Aaron summed it up with this:
YES AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO
IT! It can also be used as mouth wash.
